I found out about The Memory Box
Artists Program from a friend who volunteers
to cuddle newborns at a local hospital. I felt
that I would like to participate in making memory
boxes because of several family members who
have lost infants and at the same time, have
the satisfaction of creating something beautiful.
I’m an artist who suffered a stroke
eight years ago. Though I can’t do realistic
painting as I once did, I can accomplish some
decorative painting techniques and do decoupage
without difficulty. But I have to have a real
purpose to provide the motivation as I find
it impossible to “just practice.” Mostly I
needed to experience the satisfaction of, once
again, completing something that will have a
real impact on someone’s life.

I find it tells the story very well.
