hair donation guidelines
 
Ponytails or Braids Should Be:
1. Ten (10) inches or longer
2. Clean and Dry
3. Cut above the rubber band and kept bundled in a ponytail or braid 
4. Not Chemically damaged or Bleached 
(Dyed or Permed is OK) 
 
How to Mail:

1. Place the dry ponytail or braid in a Ziploc bag
2. Do not staple or wrap the donor's name around the ponytail
3. Write the length of the ponytail or braid on the outside of the Ziploc bag
3. Do not put the donor's name and address sheet inside the Ziploc bag
4. If you have agreed to send thank you cards do not include the donor name and address
    with donation.
5. Mail ponytails through standard mail to:

Do's and Don'ts 
  •  Do                pull curly hair straight to measure the 10 inches 
  •  Do                send hair that has been saved for a long time if it has been 
                         stored properly 
  • Do                 tell clients that hair that's short, gray or not suitable for children will be 
                         separated from the ponytail and sold to offset the production costs. 
  • Do                 refer us to any children 18 years old or younger suffering from long-term 
                         or permanent hair loss 
  • Don't             send wigs, falls or synthetic hair 
  • Don't                send hair that has been swept off the floor or not bundled 
  • Don't             staple, tape, or rubber band the donor's name and address around 
                         the ponytail or braid. 
  • Don't             send donor's name if you have already sent Thank you cards.
