OUR MISSION: Blooming Place For Kids is committed to enriching the lives of children age 8 to 15 who are at risk by providing a unique camping experience which has a profound effect on their self esteem. Blooming Place For Kids' residential camp promotes positive values and encourages teamwork, sharing and individual growth.

Our Founder
Founder and Executive Director Jan Horn grew up in Florida on beautiful Clearwater Beach and has had a love for children for as long as she can remember. As a single parent for 19 years, Jan raised two children on her own so she definitely understands the time, energy and attention it takes to raise kids who are responsible, productive and happy adults.
Jan
has a broad base of education and expertise in working with children including
experience with such programs as Special Olympics, YMCA youth and special education
programs but has always had a desire to offer a place for abused and neglected
children to mend and "to grow and bloom."
Prior to founding Blooming Place for Kids, Jan was the spokesperson for a local,
national wish granting foundation and coordinated wishes for children with life
threatening illnesses.
Jan describes herself as resourceful, persistent, disciplined, honest, funny and most of all, committed. Blooming Place for Kids is a 25 year dream come true for Jan who wants nothing more than to "make a difference in the lives of children. After all, they are our future."
